What do you get when you mix a passion for model trains and a love of children? There is only one answer "Papa's Trains".

A television documentary on Canadian Living Television followed the design and construction of his model railway and his visits to McMaster Children's Hospital. The host Nora Pratt stated, "What a very special human being."

Charlie's mommy Suzanne sent this e-mail; "It was an amazing birthday party; Charlie was in awe of it!!! My friends commented; Papa Trains is a Rock Star, he clearly loves what he is doing and has a special gift!!!"

Wendy Mackey of the Insider wrote, "Not just any conductor, a man who has a heart bigger than the Little Engine That Could - a man affectionately known to many as Papa Train."

Papa’s trains has entertained tens of thousands of children at many of the top fairs, festivals, pre-schools, daycares, community organizations and retirement residences throughout Ontario. His unique entertainment, a truly one-of-a-kind show, keeps kids, parents and grandparents coming back for more, show after show, day after day, year after year.

Lise Diebel of The Hamilton Spectator wrote, "He's a very giving person and he always has a smile on his face. And no matter how shy a kid can be, he gets them talking and out of their shell."

Papa has received many awards including the "Outstanding Volunteer" award from the Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association.

Sherry Proudy, an elementary school teacher wrote, "I truly admire the special gift you have that makes children know they are loved."

Hospital patient April Ripper in an article in Model Railroader says, “Papa Train makes me laugh and he brings smiles to the kids when they’re upset.”

In an article in the Haldimand Press, Mark Magee a Beaver Leader stated, “Papa has an incredible gift with children and was able to keep the Beavers spellbound for the hour with his train stories and jokes.”
